Dispersive Oscillators for Tunable Lasers

Design of dispersive oscillators for tunable lasers: these can be of the multiple-prism grating class or the standard grazing-incidence type. All designs aimed to yield single-transverse-mode emission. Required input parameters include cavity length, desired laser linewidth, desired efficiency, center wavelength, and wavelength tuning range. Option 1: design only. Option 2: design plus US made optical components. Note: these oscillator designs apply to either liquid or solid-state gain media.

Note: the principles of the dispersive tunable laser oscillators mentioned here are described in F. J. Duarte, Tunable Laser Optics, 2nd Edition (CRC, New York, 2015) (see Chapters 4 and 7). This optimized multiple-prism grating narrow-linewidth laser oscillator was first published in F. J. Duarte, Multiple-prism grating solid-state dye laser oscillator: optimized architecture, Appl. Opt. 38, 6347-6349 (1999).
